” There is no other way for the court to right this incorrect,” the judge stated that day, according to the outlet. “The sanction of termination is the only warranted treatment.”
The Aviator star noticeably sobbed in court and welcomed his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, after the judge made her decision. Shortly thereafter, Gutierrez-Reeds legal representative, Bowles, informed NBC News that the judge “absolutely made the best decision on the law and on the facts” relating to Baldwins case dismissal.
” The judge found the state dedicated misbehavior,” Bowles added. “I suggest, seeing Mr. Baldwin, knowing what he was going through, knowing what Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is going through today being in prison, which the state has actually devoted a pattern of violations of discovery … its ravaging.”
For her part, Gutierrez-Reed was convicted in March of uncontrolled murder connected to Hutchins death. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison as a result.
The disaster on the Rust film set became a highly publicized dilemma for Baldwin. Shortly after Hutchins death was reported, the armorer and the star dealt with criticism from the general public. Ever since, multiple film sets have implemented brand-new safety requirements for anybody working with prop weapons.

On July 13, Judicial District Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer dismissed his case after his legal representatives effectively argued that district attorneys concealed evidence that might have been related to Hutchins death.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the former Rust movie armorer, is filing a motion to have her case dismissed after Alec Baldwins trial fell apart, her attorney verified.
” We are going to be submitting on the exact same basis on discovery violations which have occurred throughout her case and continue to take place,” Jason Bowles informed NBC News after Baldwin, 66, had his case collapse in court recently. “Things that I found out today that took place, absolutely shocking.”
In October 2021, Baldwin was holding a prop gun on the set of Rust while shooting a scene at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in New Mexico. The gun fired a live round that fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The star was charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter, and his trial started previously this month. However, on July 13, Judicial District Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer dismissed his case after his lawyers successfully argued that prosecutors concealed evidence that may have been connected to Hutchins death.
