Gadd created and starred in his one-man show and miniseries Baby Reindeer, playing Donny Dunn. During his interview, Gadd recalled a lady– whom he called Martha– fulfilling him at the pub where he worked.
” I definitely egged the circumstance on before I understood that it was as hazardous as it was,” Gadd told the publication in October 2019. “I behaved like a prick sometimes.”
While confessing he initially flirted with the older female, Gadd mentioned that his actions, which were shown through his character, might “turn” his audience “against” him,” adding, “And theyre best to.”

After trying to get in touch with police, Gadd was told he required real evidence against Martha. “Its not their fault– its the lack of funding, the lack of training, the absence of understanding, the absence of support for the victims,” Gadd said about law enforcement.
” The laws surrounding harassment and abuse are so foolish due to the fact that they try to find white and black, great and wicked, whichs not how it works,” Gadd even more described. “I could frighten you by turning up to your workplace every day and getting a coffee over the road and staring through the window at you. You may feel very uncomfortable about that. Unless you can show that theres some sort of physical threat, he can do as he pleases. Thats truly endangering your life. You can truly affect someones life within the criteria of legality, and that is sort of mad.”

Who Is the Real Martha From Baby Reindeer?
An unnamed female claiming to have actually motivated the character Martha consulted with Daily Mail in April 2024. She implicated Gadd of “using Baby Reindeer to stalk me now.”
” Im the victim. Hes written a bloody show about me,” she told the outlet, including that she apparently received “death dangers and abuse from Richard Gadd advocates.”

Her attorney Chris Daw announced that she was preparing on taking legal action against “all of those who have lied about me and used my image to make big amounts of cash on their own,” in the statement. “Nobody ever approached me for any talk about the precision of Baby Reindeer, or the really major and destructive accusation that I am a founded guilty criminal, with a major criminal record, who has actually spent time in jail,” she stated.
What Happens at the End of Baby Reindeer?
The ending of the series sees Donny play a voicemail from Martha. In it, she described that she called him “infant reindeer” because of a stuffed animal she had maturing.
