Regular individuals lean on their good friends for support, which is exactly what the Twister actor wants to clarify.
In 2022, Daisy Edgar-Jones, 26, and Paul Mescal, 28, found themselves in the center of attention when a photo from Met Gala emerged, revealing Mescal allegedly gazing at Edgar-Jones from a range while standing with his then-girlfriend, singer Phoebe Bridgers, 29. This stimulated speculation that Mescal secretly had sensations for his previous co-star.
Calling the buzz surrounding the image “wild,” she set the record straight on what really decreased that night.
” I was having sort of an out-of-body experience with the Met Gala,” Daisy described in a video for WhoWhatWear released July 11. “So Paul had actually said like, Come and satisfy me and we could do it together. Because we were such buddies and it [would be] cool to fit.”. The timing didnt line up, as Mescal showed up “quite late” to the occasion.
The starlet remembered finishing a Vogue interview while awaiting Mescal to arrive. So, according to Edgar-Jones, what fans saw in the photo was just a buddy acknowledging another pal when Mescal arrived with Bridgers.
” Finally, Paul featured Phoebs and we were waiting and did the carpet together. And honestly, hes my pal, so he was probably simply being like, There she is!”.

In the interview, she admitted her issue over the image wasnt even the excessive thinking that originated from it but rather her chosen position.
” It was still early days, so I didnt understand how to pose on a red carpet,” the Twisters actress continued. “So, what I think is most terrible about this is the deep leg cross that I kind of dedicated to in every photo.”.
Although Daisy didnt mind describing the context of the photo to squash any remaining reports, Paul has actually been vocal about feelings on the speculative nature of fans and the media.
” I absolutely feel the temptation to say the status of my whatever– that will always be there,” Mescal informed Vanity Fair at the time, noting he was “actually mad and upset” about speculation. “The temptation still exists to be like, Shut the f– k up. This is my life. This is whats going on. Or this is whats not going on.”.
Mescal and Bridgers dated from 2020 up until about February 2023, when reports started to swirl that he and the Boygenius vocalist had actually divided.
