Mixed feelings about your house of the Dragon finale. On one hand it was one of my favorite episodes of the series so far. On the other hand theres been a lot tension developed throughout the season that not releasing any of it for a 2+ year wait does not truly work for me.

What Happened Between Rhaenyra and Alicent?
Rhaenyra (played by Emma DArcy) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke) liquidate the season ending with an intense exchange. Though its only a spoken minute, the characters intense energy offers enough drama for fans to hold on the edges of their seats.
The characters initially meet at the start of season 2, but during the finale, Alicent visits Rhaenyra to potentially open Kings Landings gates to Team Black. Not just that, but she also reluctantly concurs to having her child, Aegon, lose his head.
How Did the Battle of the Gullet End?
The fight does not end because it doesnt even begin! Episode 8 of season 2 ended right before the Battle of the Gullet was supposed to start. The expected battle was expected to feature all the dragons and drama for fans to consume.
Director Geeta Vasant Patel spoke with Variety about how the finale was crafted.
” I didnt understand if it would be a fight or something else,” she informed the outlet. “I probably expected a fight, simply as a fan. Then when I check out the script, I was happily stunned and pleased since I think we put too much on fights. I believe whats really interesting about this episode is that its about relationships. Its the dialogue, the twists and turns, the relationship in between Daemon and Rhaenyra, and Rhaenyra and Alicent. For me, it was rather awesome to focus on the dramaturgy. I like that. I was excited to dig deep with this. I definitely felt the challenge if individuals are expecting a huge fight, how is this going to contend with it?”.

House of the Dragon is just a show where everything is continuously about to happen however does not really occur.
The entirety of Season 2 need to have been a 3 episode arc, nothing more nothing less.
