Independent presidential prospect Robert F. Kennedy Jr. admitted on Sunday that in 2014, he discarded a dead bear cub in Central Park in Manhattan and staged it to appear like the animal had actually been struck by a bike.
” I pulled over and I got the bear and put him in the back of my van due to the fact that I was going to skin the bear,” he said. “It remained in great condition and I was going to put the meat in my refrigerator.”
He then detailed how he needed to participate in a supper at Peter Luger Steak House in New York City and then head to the airport, which indicated he needed to get rid of the bear.
To resolve his problem, he chose to leave the bear in Central Park with an old bike to make it look like it had actually been hit by the bike because there had actually been “a series of bike mishaps in New York” and believed it would be a “excellent idea” to stage the event– discussing it would be “funny.”.
” We thought it would be amusing for whoever discovered it, or something,” he stated.
” The next day it was on every tv station,” he remembered of the headline-making story. “I was like, Oh my God, what did I do?”.
” I was stressed because my prints were all over that bike … Luckily, the story waned after a while,” Kennedy shared.
” Its gon na be a bad story,” he added while discussing the New Yorkers proposed piece.
On Monday, the outlet published a piece titled “What Does Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In fact Want?” which consisted of information surrounding the bear incident.
source.
In the video, Kennedy began his explanation by saying he and some good friends got the animal after he saw a lady in a van hit and eliminate a young bear while driving through the Hudson Valley.
The staged bicycle accident initially made headlines in 2014. Then-New York Times reporter Tatiana Schlossberg– who is the granddaughter of previous President John F. Kennedy– covered the story for the outlet.
A female was walking her dog in Central Park when she noticed it lying under some bushes, partially concealed by a deserted bike. The cub was 6 months old and 44 pounds.
On Sunday, Aug. 4, the 70-year-old shared a video on X showing him recounting the story to Roseanne Barr, 71.
He noted that he decided to share the story now since the New Yorker will be consisting of the event in a forthcoming article. “Looking forward to seeing how you spin this one,” he said in his post, tagging the magazine.
